West Virginia’s Largest Trampoline Park and More to Open at Meadowbrook Mall

Meadowbrook Mall is continuing to innovate beyond the traditional shopping experience with the latest addition of The Hive Entertainment Zone. After months of construction, The Hive Entertainment Zone will open its doors this Friday, January 24, at 10 AM. Since its August, 2024 announcement, The Hive Entertainment Zone has created quite the excitement, as it will be the largest Trampoline Park in West Virginia, and possibly the Mid-Atlantic region.  Along with the trampoline park, The Hive will open with several other attractions, including large party area, redemption arcade, traverse climbing wall and much more.

In August, The Hive Entertainment Zone began construction in a 53,500 sq. ft. space in Meadowbrook Mall. The reconstruction includes the installation of premier, high-quality technology that places the safety of customers at the highest priority. Some of the many attractions to open alongside the state’s largest trampoline park include a 2,300 sq. ft. multi-purpose sport court, a 3,000 sq. ft. arcade, a 4,500 sq. ft. laser tag arena, a traverse climbing wall, interactive AeroStrike game, and a large designated area for birthday parties and large events. Different attractions will be geared towards kids of all ages, including the 3,000 sq. ft. inflatable area and the 3,000 sq. ft., 3-tiered soft play area for children ages 5 and under. The park features over 5,000 sq. ft. of toddler attraction space, which includes 500 sq ft. for kids aged 1-3 years old. The Hive will also feature the Honeycomb Café, where there will be a multitude of quick service food and drink offerings.

The introduction of The Hive Entertainment Zone marks the fourth major transformation Meadowbrook Mall has undergone since the start of 2023. In two years, Meadowbrook Mall has opened the first Boscov’s in West Virginia, expanded and remodeled anchor stores and other retailer spaces, like Marshalls, Books-A-Million, Dick’s Sporting Goods, American Eagle and Shoe Dept. Encore. The addition of The Hive Entertainment Zone will enhance the Mall beyond the traditional scope of a shopping center, and give shoppers entertainment for the whole day while they enjoy their visit to Meadowbrook Mall.

The Hive Entertainment Zone is located between Boscov’s and Cinemark. Meadowbrook Mall Celebrates County Award

Meadowbrook Mall was the star of the show during last night’s Harrison County Chamber of Commerce Annual Awards Dinner. During the ceremony, Meadowbrook Mall received the award for Business of the Year, while Boscov’s, the mall’s newest anchor store, was honored as the New Business of the Year. This year’s Harrison County Chamber of Commerce Awards Dinner, the Chamber’s 105th reiteration of the ceremony, took place at the historic Robinson Grand Performing Arts Center.

The success that has earned Meadowbrook Mall the title of Business of the Year is highlighted by the many renovations and investments that allow the shopping center to give customers the best experience. The most notable of these renovations is the opening of Boscov’s, the largest expansion project in the history of Meadowbrook Mall. The construction of Boscov’s 151,000-sq-ft. space initiated several smaller renovations throughout the shopping center, including the spaces now occupied by Books-A-Million and Marshall’s. After these upgrades were completed, Meadowbrook Mall continued its momentum. Since Boscov’s Grand Opening, employee-owned Tradehome Shoes opened its doors in a prime, Center Court location. Following Tradehome Shoes’ success, a 20,000-sq-ft. expansion has begun at Shoe Department, as well as the storewide renovation of Dick’s Sporting Goods.

Boscov’s, the Chamber of Commerce’s New Business of the Year, is the largest family-owned department store chain in the United States. The first Boscov’s store opened in 1918 in Reading, Pennsylvania. Since then, the Boscov family has opened 49 additional stores in New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Ohio. Boscov’s location in Meadowbrook Mall is the chain’s 50th store to open, and is the first to open in West Virginia. After the store’s Grand Opening and “Shop for a Cause” charity event in the fall of 2023, Boscov’s has immediately established itself as a staple in the Harrison County Area.  Both Meadowbrook Mall and Boscov’s extend thanks to Harrison County and the Chamber of Commerce for honoring the roles the mall and the store play in the community.

Trading Spaces for Tradehome

 

A new and popular source for footwear is coming to Meadowbrook Mall in Bridgeport, West Virginia.  Tradehome Shoes will open a new store this spring in nearly 2,000 square foot location on the mall’s Center Court.  That space is currently occupied by Cardinal Market, which will be relocating to a 2,300 square foot space near the children’s play area.  This will be Tradehome’s first location in north-central West Virginia.
