For the sweet-tooth in all of us

It’s one of those sweet recollections from childhood:  That special treat that you got every once in a while. If you were lucky, you could find it most of the time at the neighborhood store.  You’ll soon be able to savor it again at Rocket Fizz Soda Pop and Candy Shop, a new store at Governor’s Square Mall in Clarksville, Tennessee.  This throw-back confectionary will occupy nearly 2,000 square feet of space in the mall’s north concourse, next to Spencer’s.  It is scheduled to welcome its first customers by November of this year.

Rocket Fizz is a one-stop shop for all of your soda pop and candy cravings. There are thousands of bottled soda pops and packaged candies from all over America, and the world.  It is one of the fastest growing soda and candy franchise brands in the country, with over 100 locations in the United States and Canada.  The new Rocket Fizz at Governor’s Square Mall will be the only location within 150 miles.

Rocket Fizz is just the latest addition to a rapidly-changing Governor’s Square Mall.  The mall is currently undergoing a multi-million dollar renovation that will greatly enhance appearance, comfort and functionality of the facility.  Details of a Grand Reopening celebration will be forthcoming soon.

Small Shop Showdown

 How tough can it be when the rent is free?

 

           

Do you have a great idea for a retail business?  Maybe the only thing holding you back is the fear of what it would cost to rent store space.  Ohio Valley Mall, in partnership with the St. Clairsville Chamber of Commerce, has a way to remove that fear for one budding retailer with the Small Shop Showdown.

Here’s how it works:  Between July 24 and September 4, 2024, pitch your potential business online at www.ohiovalleymall.net/smallshopshowdown.  Fill out the application form, explaining the business plan for your product or service.  Ohio Valley Mall’s leasing staff and representatives from the St. Clairsville Chamber of Commerce will evaluate the proposals and announce one lucky winner on September 25.   The winner of the Small Shop Showdown will enjoy 26 weeks (six months) of FREE RENT inside the mall.  This new business will be able to take advantage of a prime location with lots of customer traffic from November 20, 2024 – May 20, 2025.

In addition to the rent-free store space, the winner will receive a package of promotional assistance to help get the business off the ground, including posters, a news release, digital signage and advertising on social media.  (Please note: The winner must be ready to open for business November 20, 2024.  A complete list of contest details and restrictions is available on the website.)

Residential Startup a Smashing Success in Sandusky

         

Just a few months after quietly welcoming its first tenants, Villas at Sandy Creek is nearly full.  The 126-unit gated community is located near Sandusky, Ohio.  The residential development was a pivot for Ohio-based Cafaro Company, which for 75 years concentrated on retail centers.  In 2022, Cafaro partnered with another Ohio company, Crossroads Group LLC, to transform 15 acres of the Sandusky Mall property for multi-family residential use.  The development cost was not disclosed.

Two styles are available, 1,309 square foot 2-bedroom ranch suites and 1,404 square foot 2-story, 2-bedroom townhouses.  Both types offer private entrances and attached garages.  Each home is fully equipped with a washer, dryer and luxury touches throughout.  Each kitchen comes with high-end appliances and granite countertops.  Tenants have access to a community clubhouse. Most importantly, they are only steps away from all the stores and restaurants of Sandusky Mall.
