HUNTINGTON — Two new additions are coming to Huntington Mall this fall.

BoxLunch and Grindstone Coffeeology both plan to open their doors in time for the holiday shopping season, according to Joe Bell, director of corporate communications for the mall’s parent company, Cafaro.

“The name of BoxLunch is a little deceiving,” Bell said. “It’s a civic-minded web plus brick and mortar-based specialty retailer offering a curated collection of licensed and non-licensed merchandise. The pop culture-themed product line includes apparel, accessories, home goods, gift and novelty and collectibles.”

Bell said with every $10 customers spend, BoxLunch will help provide a meal secured by Feeding America on behalf of local member food banks.

He said the new store will open its doors in a 3,444-square-foot location near the mall’s Center Court. There are currently 165 BoxLunch stores nationwide, according to Bell.

“Right next door to BoxLunch, Grindstone Coffeeology will be serving up delicious offerings for coffee lovers,” Bell added. “The new 996 square foot shop roasts its own coffee beans and offers a variety of drinks that include cappuccino, espresso, lattes and cold-brewed iced coffee. The drink menu also includes sweet and unsweetened tea and Italian sodas. Complementing all this is a tasty assortment of breakfast pastries, sandwiches and soup. Grindstone has already built a loyal following at its initial location in the City of Huntington.”

    • At 9 am, come watch a parade of antique cars, local dignitaries, mascots and the 125-member Niles High School marching band kick-off our ribbon-cutting ceremony.  Ginny Pasha, President of Trumbull’s United Way, and United Way member agencies will snip a special ribbon made of $100 bills for their organizations plus a $1,000 bill for the United Way, symbolizing Boscov’s commitment to local charities that serve the communities.

Happy Birthday Kennedy Mall | Mall welcomes new retailers as part of 50th Anniversary

Iowa’s first enclosed shopping mall is celebrating 50 years of serving Dubuque and the surrounding tri-state area.   The month-long celebration culminates on Saturday, October 2.  A formal Anniversary Ceremony takes place in Center Court at 11:30 am. From noon to 5:00pm, the community is invited to enjoy an afternoon of music, costume characters, games, food and entertainment for the entire family.  This event is FREE for all to attend.

As Kennedy Mall reaches this auspicious milestone, it is also welcoming five new retailers.  Nerd HQ is a gaming lounge, catered to all genres of the “Gamer Nerd”.  It hosts casual and competitive play for table-top, board and video games.  It opened in July in a 4,445 square foot space near Hibbett Sports.

Right next door, The Tech Corner is getting ready to open in November.  The 4,276 square foot shop will specialize in repairing and refurbishing a variety of phones and other electronic devices.
